BEFORE BOARDING

How can I book a ticket?

You can book your ticket online, by phoning our Call Center, or at the box offices Azzurraline in the ports of departures or at a travel agency. On our web site you can easily and quickly check availability and fares, specifying the requested itinerary and departure dates. The payment by means of credit card allows to purchase the ticket online in a very easy way, with guarantee of safety and privacy. Call Center Azzurraline is operative every day (excluding saturdays afternoon and sundays) from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. and from 3.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. (local Italian time Utc+1)

How much time before departure can I purchase the ticket?

Tickets can be purchased online, at your travel agent or through our Call Center up to 24 hrs prior departure; at box offices located in the embarkation ports up to 2 hrs prior departure, subject to availability.

How to pay a ticket?

If you choose to book online or through our Call Center, you can pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard and American Express accepted). Payment by Electron is accepted by our system, but it’s necessary to check if the contract signed with your bank allows to use this type of credit card on E-commerce payments. At box offices Azzurraline, besides above payment, you can also pay cash or by Travellers Cheques (with a 5% additional charge due to bank commissions). Cheques not accepted. If you book through your travel agency, please ask them for payment modalities.

How shall I receive booking and payment confirmation?

In case of online or telephone booking, we will send you a message at your e-mail address, complete with all travel details and booking reference number. In case of booking through your travel agent or at the box office Azzurraline in the ports of departures, the staff will give you your booking code or directly your ticket.

How shall I collect an online purchased ticket?

Tickets confirmed and paid can be collected at the embarkation offices on departure date. It’s necessary to provide your booking reference number or copy of your ticket, that we’ll send you after your payment by credit card.

At what time and how must I check-in for the ferry?

Check-in can be done during the whole day of departure. We remind you that the time limit for presentation is at least 2 hrs prior departure (we suggest 4-5 hrs prior departure in high season - July and August – for faster check-in operations and to avoid long queues). In case of failure to comply with the above, Azzurraline may reserve the right to cancel the booking, and in this case embarkation will be no longer guaranteed. All passengers must be in possession of a valid identity document, together with their tickets or, in alternative, of their booking reference number. Expired documents will not be considered valid. Check-in will not be carried out if passenger’s name on booking confirmation is different from the one shown on their identity document, and in this case no refund will be provided. Identity documents of all travellers, children included, as well as documents of accompanying vehicles, are also required during check-in operations

How to book for a Group?

Ten or more passengers are considered to be a Group. To book for a group, please contact your local travel agent or call directly Azzurraline reservation center (0039.080.5928400). Fares will be provided and an immediate deposit will be required to receive a confirmation, within the date indicated.

My car is high. Shall I pay a higher fare?

The fare for accompanying cars is the same for all cars whose total height does not exceed 180 cm. The "Minibus" fare is due only if the car height, including items on the top, exceeds such limit. As far as height is concerned, items such as windsurf, canoes, small boats, all kinds of baggage on the top of the accompanying car are carried free of charge, provided that the total height does not exceed 180 cm.

I have a gas-fired car

Upon ticket purchase and during check-in operations, you must declare if your car engine is powered with Liquefied Natural Gas or methane. Failing to do that, you shall loose the boarding right.

I have been told that, when purchasing a ticket, I must provide personal data of all passengers. Is that compulsory ?

Yes. The Italian Law (D.M. 13.10.1999), in compliance with an European Directive (98/41/CE), requires that name, surname, sex and age of all Passengers must be provided.

I have booked a journey with a “group” of friends (more than 10 people). The Travel Agent has released a nominative list of all the party, advising to carry it along with me for boarding. What should I actually do with it?

You should kindly hand over the list to the boarding port Office for check in. In case of increasing or decreasing of the passengers number before departure, the Agent shall update list and ticket as well. In case of name change, a new updated list must be prepared and handed over to the port Office.

Is it true that my luggage will not be accepted on board if I do not embark personally ?

That’s true, due to security reasons. In compliance with Italian and UE laws on “security”, not accompanying luggages will not be accepted on board, if not forwarded as a “good”.

How about passengers needing a special assistance?

Passengers requiring assistance (persons with disabilities or pregnant women) to board or to disembark, must contact the Call Center Azzurraline, in order to manage for the necessary arrangements. Procedures can be modified even without prior notice.

May I carry my pet with me?

The master of the ferry reserves the rigth to refuse the embarkation of dogs or other accompanying animals; loading of animals will be accepted on board according to master’s discretion, always considering the sanitary regulations, the safety and comforts of passengers, crew and ship. Max 8 dogs per journey will be accepted, and they will be lodged in the apposite dog house.

ON BOARD

When being in the garage, do I have to park-brake my car?

After parking the car in the ship garage, please engage the gear and the parking brakes. Do not insert any alarm.

Is it true that, once on board, disembarking is forbidden?

It’s true, due to security reasons, in compliance with national and international laws. For the same reasons, it may happen that passengers as well as their luggages or vehicles are subject to ship’s crew inspection.

Where can I ask for information?

At the ship Reception, the Onboard Chief Purser is at your disposal for any need.

What does “deck passage” mean?

A deck passage is a not numbered seat. There are free seats widespread in all the ferry, both inside and outside. In case of night-time departures, deck passages may be assigned only if all other numbered accomodations (cabins and seats) have been already sold out.

May I smoke on board?

Smoking is allowed only on external decks or at open air in general, if not expressly forbidden for security reasons. Smoking in inside areas is forbidden.

AFTER DISEMBARKING

Missing Items

In case of items forgotten or lost on board, please contact the Onboard Chief Purser before next departure. In next ten days, you can contact the office Azzurraline of the arrival port, where lost and found items will be at your disposal. After that period, lost and found items will be sent to the Head Office; therefore, you can ask for them by e-mail, specifying your name, your travel details (itinerary, departure date, accomodation) and a description of the item. We will get back to you.
