Croatia

Located in the north-west part of the Balkans, Croatia has long been regarded as one of the most beautiful Countries of Europe and it represents nowadays a holiday place well appreciated by tourists. Croatia has an extremely varied territory: it has more than thousands of islands and islets and its beaches have always represented its main tourist attraction; Continental Croatia, however, also abounds in beauty: with its hills, forests and rivers, it is to be visited. In Croatia there are also seven National parks. The historical region of Croatia is Dalmatia, which is undoubtedly the most popular tourist destination. Its marvellous beaches and its limpid sea attract every year thousands of tourists, who appreciate very much its extraordinary and famous islands (among which we remember, in particular, Korcula, Mljet, Brac e Hvar) as well as its beautiful towns, rich in historical and cultural monuments, among which there is Dubrovnik, a medieval town known all over the world. Tha capital of Croatia is Zagreb, which is the economic, traffic, cultural and academic centre of the country.
